A Look at Service Component Architecture (SCA)
The vision for SCA, a notion that originated with IBM and BEA Systems, was of a programming standard for service-oriented architecture (SOA), according to Michael Rowley, who has been involved with the spec almost since its inception. Rowley, CTO at Active Endpoints and former director of technology at BEA, is also co-author of the recently released book, Understanding SCA.

According to Jeff Mischkinsky of Oracle, "The seven OASIS SCA Technical Committees have been busy working, generating and resolving issues and have been making excellent progress.The OASIS Open CSA Steering Committee has been providing the venue for coordinating the work and the TCs are close to their first major milestone, the first Public Review, which looks like it should be happening in the next several months."
